Jake has been playing church basketball the last couple months and last night was the first night of play-offs. There was a different atmousphere in the Stake Center last night. Tempers were going off a little more that usually but everyone kept their cool and had good sportsmanship. They won their first game but lost by a few points in their second game. They play next week to see if they get to go to regionals. Jake did good, even if he says he could have shot better. He loves being down low with 2-4 guys on him and going up for a shot. He is happy if it goes in and happy if he is fouled because he loves to shoot free-throws. He has a pretty awesome 3-point shot too. In the second game, one of the gaurds kept trying to push him around so in the last 20 seconds of the game, the guard had the ball and Jake was all over him. He said he didn't care if he fouled him, he just wasn't going to let him pass the ball. The guard couldn't pass the ball, but I think they finally called the foul on Jake. We have a lot of fun watching Jake play. If Jake is sitting out, Kinley will go and sit next to him on the stage. It is the cutest thing! Kinley says she is going to play basketball when she gets big. At the games, the cheering usually sounds like this, "GO DADDY!" from all the little kids.

Preston loves Veggies
I can't believe it, my boy loves squash. I can't belive my child likes veggies other than corn, peas, and green beans. Kinley loves peas and corn on the cob. I am such a picky eater, I hope he keeps taking after Jakes good eating habits because mine aren't very good! We started giving Preston baby food. I tried apple sauce a few times and he wouldn't eat it. So I finally just tried squash and he loves it! Kinley decided she wanted to try it and she took a bite and made the funniest face. I asked her if she liked it and she said, "No

Rexburg Temple
We were able to go to the Rexburg Temple open house in January. It is a beautiful building. A theme of the temple decor is wheat since it is a farming community. Kinley and Preston went with us. Preston was so good untill the end and started getting hungry. Kinley did good untill the end too except she wasn't very reverent! When we were watching the movie, it was showing the baptismal font, and Kinley says very loudly "look a tub". Then when we got the the font in the temples she kept talking about the "cows". It was a good experience to go with Jake and the kids. Jake and I were also able to go to the temple dedication.
Dress Up
Kinley had Kenadee come over and play the other day and boy did they have fun. They played dress-up and looked just B-E-A-UTIFUL!
First Hair Cut
Well, the time came to cut off Prestons mullet. On January 31, I cut his hair. Lets just say it's a good thing I didn't go to beauty school! I thought I was doing a good job until I combed it and he looked like Lloyd Christmas from Dumb and Dumber! If I keep it combed to the sidevit looks okay but then again he was stuck with the Pratt calics and his hair loves to stand up.
