helecopter ride

In July, I happened to be 9 months pregnant so I decided against a helecopter ride even though I really wanted to ride! Grandpa Don and Grandma Suzie set up a time for the family to ride in the helecopter. The pilot is related. The kids had a lot of fun. They flew over Lava, the Lava farm and over our house and the farm. They had a great time. I hope he comes back this summer so I can go for a ride!

Mr. Preston

This summer on the way home from Blackfoot we had some Tahoe troubles. Between Blackfoot and Fort Hall the Tahoe spuddered and quit. Luckily my dad came to the rescue and pulled us to Fort Hall. I called Jake and he got some tools and a part to see if we could fix the problem. Jake met us in Fort Hall and we got the Tahoe running and Made it 1/4 mile before the Lava turn. Jake toed me to Shane's Repair and we had us a new fuel pump put in. While in Fort Hall, Preston was trying to help his dad fix the car.

He kinda likes his listtle sis. He loved to take his nap or fall asleep at night by her. It was precious. Then at 6 weeks Little Sis started getting colicy so it was over with laying by her.

For Prestons birthday he picked out his new bike. He learned how to ride a bike without training wheeles this summer at Grammi's house. The bike he had was a little 12" and I bought at a yard sale so this new one is nice a shiney. It is a little big but it should be perfect for next summer.

We found this 4 wheeler on KSL. Having a little trouble getting it to work really well, doesn't go fast! He was having a pushing contest with his dad. Preston couldn't stop laughing.

For Prestons birthday we made a cake made to look like a field. We had a fall wheat field, a stubble patch, and grain to be cut. Then we had to have a rock picking wheeler and a little deer coming to eat some fall wheat. Turned out pretty good.

One of Prestons favorite things is to ride the 4 wheeler. He loves to drive. This was the first snowfall back in November. They had fun being pulled in the sled behind the wheeler.

Miss Kinley

This pose should tell you a little about Kinley. She loves to be in the spotlight and to be the boss! You can usually catch her with her headphones on dancing around the house. We had fun taking these pictures for her birthday but the light didn't turn out as good as last year.

This is Kinleys preschool graduation. They sang us some song and they made the hats. She had fun with her preschool class and most of the kids are in her Kindergarden class.

This is Jeremy Evans from the Utah Jazz. He did a Jr. Jazz camp in Soda again this year. He is a pretty good dunker! We got to meet him last year too and is fun watching him on tv since we got to meet him!

There was a circus that came to Blackfoot this year. It was held on one of the weeks that we were in Blackfoot for an OB appointment. Kinley and Paisley wanted to ride the camel. They also rode on some ponys. This was thier first circus.

Kinley was in dance last year and this is from summer. She was excited to be in the parade. Kinley is still dancing around the house and creating dances that she can teach her friends but she is doing tumbling class rather than dance class now.

Kinley usually loves her sis, unless she is crying.

Kenadee asked Kinley to ride in the EISF parade with her. Shilo was driving his semi. They had fun.

Kinley started Kindergarden this September. All but one of her really good friends are in her class. Her teacher is Mrs. Sweet. She has started reading really good but says she gets a little board.

This is on Kinleys 6th birthday. She wanted butterfly cakes. She also ended up having 3 parties! Spoiled

This is Kenedee and Kinley before the Roberts moved to Washington. We got to go eat lunch with them. They kids had so much fun and there was more giggles than eating but on this occasion it was ok. We all got iPads for Christmas so the girls spends hours on Facetime talking, dancing, playing Barbies and most of all giggling!

He fell in the shower and cut his chin on the drain. I steri stripped it. Then he fell off an excersice ball and his ear caught on a table and sliced it open. That one was a trip to the ER because the urgent care said his ear wouldn't numb. So, just like a boy, he is blessed with scars.

Kinley finished her 1st year of Preschool with Mrs. Pat Deru. She loved it. They did a program of all the songs they learned. Her teacher made them a little scrapbook and presented it to each child. She said Kinley was the little mother out of all her classes.

I love this time of year...snow, celebrating Christ birth, Christmas, New Years...

Well, Thursday Preston was playing with 2 pennys and I was putting his jammies on. Well, he dropped one and it fell right in his mouth and slid nicely down his little throat. Poor kid! We are still waiting for it to pass!

Kinley is in Pre-School and loves it. Tonight she wondered how long before we were to the beach to go on the wagon ride. I told her 6 minutes. So she counts 1,2,3,4,5,6 -k- we aren't here yet. We said no you have to count to 60 6 times. She can do it almost all by herself. She has a hard time at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60. She will say nineteen elleven for 20. But she even went to 100!! She is my smarty pants.

Jake got our new windows installed and they look so good thanks also in part to Rowdy helping us.

I have been playing around with photoshop and having fun. Mostly getting things ready for Christmas and watching kids!

Camping

We went camping with Brittany and Tayler Thursday through Saturday to Chesterfield Reservoir. We had a pretty good time. We went for a little 4-wheeler ride and the kids loved it.

Boating

We went to Jensen Grove yesterday to take the boat out. Kinley didn't like the boat so much. You pretty much had to have your hands and legs around her and she still was clenching her teeth everytime we went over a wave or corner. Then Preston smiles as the wind is in his hair. Then he rode the double tube with Jake and I. He didn't like it when the water would slash but had lots of fun. He would just giggle. We went around the grove 2 or 3 times! Lots of fun!

Memorial Weekend

We went to Lava and went swimming with Grandma Donna, Amy, Gus, and Gunner. It was the perfect day to go swimming. Not too many people and not much for lines on the new speed slide. Jake and I both tried them out and gave them a thumbs up! Then we went up to the farm in Soda to Uncle Craigs spot and we camped all weekend. We got rained on a bit but it didn't dampen our spirits. Still had lots of fun and lot of miles on the 4-wheeler thanks to Preston. We had to constantly go on wheeler rides! Uncle Craig, Aunt Melodee, and Logan visited quite a bit and then Brit and Tayler were there Friday and Saturday. Grandpa Curt also cam to visit.

Baby Animal Day

We went to baby animal day at the fair yesterday. Preston only liked the bunny, duck, and chicks...I guess the snakes too (I DO NOT like snakes!). Kinley loved everything. She pet every animal there...yes, even the snake!

This is where we camped last weekend. Our first trip of the year. It did rain on us but we still had lots of fun!

Kinley was so excited Amy and Rowdy brought the horses. Amy has a horse named Hannah. Well, Kinley loves Hannah Montana and so the horse, at least for the weekend, was named Hannah Montana. She has so much fun riding her.

Preston vs. Chair

Kinley and Preston were playing "Hop Scotch" with the couch cushions. Well, Preston went to jump in Kinley arms and she tipped over with him and we have a banana type chair but pretty hard. Well, he his his eye right on the edge. He cried and said "ouchy, ouchy, ouchy!" It was so sad. But, he is tuff and he only cried just after it happened. I think I will have a BRUISER on my hands!

Last weekend we went to Disney on Ice, well, Kinley, my parents, my sister, my aunt, and I went. It was a lot of fun. Kinley didn't want to take her eyes off the ice. I will load pictures soon and maybe some video if I can figure that out. Kinley loved Tinkerbell and Arial. Preston went with Jake to the man store and had a good time. Jake bought a new fly rod so we will be practicing that this summer. I have been once and it was fun so I am excited to try it out some more!

Pres is interested in the potty and will sit down on his little red potty chair for about 2 seconds. Last night he got out of the tub and went in the hall and he had that look like he was going to go pee in the hall. I said no, no. I brought him in the bathroom in front of the potty chair. I turned around to clean up and look back and he peed, in the potty! Well, half was on the floor but he still did it! We were so excited. He is getting so big, the little runt!

We went to Soda to go snowmobilling and sledding last weekend. If you can't tell, I am the one taking pictures since there aren't any of me!! I had a lot of fun sleding down the hill. I went down with Kinley, Preston, and Kaybree and we got off the trail and tipped over and the girls got whitewashed from the snow. Kinley liked playing in the cabin more than outside. She has lots of fun playing with the cousins. We borrowed dads snowmachine and Jake had lots of fun, got stuck a few times though! Enjoy the pictures.

2 weekends ago we went to Salt Lake to go shopping and have fun. We went to Park City. I got Kinley some green basketball shorts and a green Nike shirt to go with it. She has probably wore those shorts 7 out of the last 14 days! She sneeks them out of the dirty clothes! She loves them. I think she will be out basketball all-star! We also had dinner with my best buddy Angie. We had fun at Auntie Marthas and Uncle Toms.
Last Friday we went to Lava to see Grandpa Curt and Grandma Donna. Then the kids played with Gus and Gunner. They always have fun playing with their cousins.
Jakes work schedule has changed a little bit. He now works tuesday-friday instead of monday-thursday. He will do that for 1 month and then go back to Monday-Thursday. It works good since I work on Monday, the kids get to stay home with their dad.
Jake has church basketball on Thursday nights and his team has won 3 strait games. The kids love to watch daddy play basketball...I do too! The kids will go sit next to him on the stage when he is sitting out. They look so cute!

Hide and Seek

Last night Jake played hide-and-seek with Kinley. They have so much fun doing that. Kinley is getting better but he used to hold still and she would look right past him. Last night she would turn around and he would run and hide. She would get frustrated and say "Dad, give me a clue!" So he would make a noise and she would laugh. Preston started playing too. He would yell, "Da"(that is how he says dad!). Then he would hold out his hands and shrug his little shoulders. I just sat on the couch and laughed. They did this for 30-45minutes.

After the primary activity, Kinley and I went for a drive to take pictures since it was snowing outside. We had fun. I have a weakness for trees, especially trees all by themselves. Then we went for a ride in my dads snowmobile. Since it was snowing, we were getting snow-blinded and we ran into a drift and tipped over the snowmachine. We all laughed, even Kinley!

Our video camera broke 2 years ago and we got a new one but they take different tapes. For Christmas I got this DVD maker that you just plug your video camera into...well, I got all the video from our new camera off. It was fun to look at the video when Kinley was 1-2 age, camping trips, Jakes video to Alaska, Jake crashing the motorcycle (hilarious-I am going to try to post it!), when Preston was born, last Christmas and this Christmas. However, my video from my old camera, is still on the tapes because I have no video camera to fit the tape and is digital! I am looking around trying to find one I can borrow. I am sad because it is video when Kinley was born and a baby:(. Anyways, get the video off you video camera tapes just in case your camera breaks!

It's a new year!

I had a fun New Years Eve. We went to my parents and there were about 15 of us out there. We talked, ate, and played games. Jake and the kids fell asleep because he isn't too big on playing games. On New Years day, my cousin, Clark, from Provo came down to visit. We played a few games with him and just hung out. We had to go to Rupes on Friday because Clark loves it. We watched a movie and then played the Wii. My mom got Wii fit. It calabrates your BMI and healthy age sort of thing. I was 25 years old but Jake got pretty mad because his was 43! He ran to work today! Hope this year will be productive, safe, and full of fun!

Kinley got up at 6:45 and we found Santa Presents. Last night she put out her reindeer food so Santa would know where to stop. Kinley got some barbie and cabbage patch clothes, baby carrier, Troy and Gabriella barbies, a portable DVD player, Flicka and Madagascar movies, bike, and treats. Preston got a bulldozer and backhoe, craftsman toolbox and tape measure, suit, p.j.s, Lincoln logs, Robot movie, and treats. We had a lot of fun having Santa visit our house this year. It is so much fun with the kids! Kinley wanted to open up all the presents and Preston just wanted to play with the toys. We had to get Gardners to trade us our truck for their snowmachines so we could get out to mom and dads. The road is totally drifted in. There were a few trucks stuck. One truck, a big dodge, has snow drifted up to the hood of the truck. Jake says the kids are staying here until the road is plowed. The good thing is it has been too windy so they haven't plowed...so Jake hasn't had to go to work! I just go back from sleding with Heather and Derek. Haven't done that for a while and it was tons of fun, now we just have to warm up! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Party

We went to Lava this morning to have a Christmas party with Jakes family. Kinley and Pres had so much fun playing with Gus and Gunner. She has been looking forward to it all week. We got all our snow gear packed but the wind was blowing so hard, we didn't get to ride the 4-wheeler or sled...bummer! Hopefully tomorrow. Kinley got a my little pony, crayons, princess tea party set, and Polly Pocket that she loves!! Preston got a color book, monster truck, book, and train. We all got a Christmas book to read tonight that is called "The First Christmas." We are watching Santa on the radar now...it sure helps Kinley to be good! Those little elves keep watching her:) Merry Christmas!!

Christmas memory

I remember a Christmas when I was 6 or 7 and my cousins were here and we had a party and my grandparents house. We did the nativity and I remember I wanted to be Mary so bad, I think I was kind of a brat that night, I don't know for sure. Anyways, I got my way and was Mary. I think it was our last Christmas with my Aunt. We opened one present that night. Then went back over the next morning to see what Santa left at grandma and grandpas. The tradition has changed for me, now we go to my parents house. But for my kids, the tradition is still the same. Christmas is so much about family to me. It is fun to get and give presents but the time I spend at Christmas functions means so much more. I would love to go back to when I was 6 or 7 and have Christmas with my grandparents and aunt and uncles and cousins. I miss that. My memories of Christmas will last longer than any gift...as long as I don't get Alzheimer's! Just want to wish you a safe and Merry Christmas and enjoy life and family.

Kinley has basically been potty-trained since she was 18 months old. She was so interested in going potty all by herself we let her. But, she was such a deep sleeper and always drinks milk before bed she would have to wear pull-ups. A couple months ago she kept saying she wants to wear panties to bed. Well, we didn't want her to have accidents so we told her she has to have 5 dry pull-up in a row and she can wear panties to bed. The closest she has got was 3 in a row but last week, she had a dry pull-up, then we forgot to put a pull-up on Kinley because she fell asleep early but she woke up dry. Well, we are on day 8 of dryness. She has got to wear panties to bed and she is so excited. She has wanted to be big like her friends Sammy and Kenadee. We are so proud of her and she is proud of herself! Yeah Kinley!!!

Snow, Snow, Snow

We love the snow at our house...for the most part. Kinley and I played in the snow yesterday with Kenadee. I pulled a sled around for them and they had lots of fun. Saturday we were going to go to Arimo for my nephews birthday and Kinley was so excited. Well, it had snowed Friday and Saturday so Jake got called into work. So, Kinley was so sad because she didn't get to go play with Gus. Poor thing. If it keeps snowing...and I hope it does...Jake will be working a lot. I told him he has to use the gilt trip on them, he has to tell them he can't come on Christmas Eve because he is not going to make his daughter cry again because she can't go see her cousin! So, we will see!

Jake was hunting for the late deer archery hunt since Sunday. My parents took me and the kids to Lava to meet Jake on Thursday and we went off to Soda and "camped" in our trailer. We watched movies and played play station! Anyways, Kinley had a ball. She was talking a mile a minute and even spotted some deer all by herself! Once we got to seeing a lot of deer so went crazy, so did Preston. Jake hasn't gotten a shot yet, his dad has shot a few arrows and just nicked one so no one has gotten a deer yet. Jake is going back on Thursday. Uncle Mark and Tim found some bear tracks. So the picture with the snow is a bear track.

Thanksgiving

We went to Lave for Thanksgiving. We went up on Wednesday and took the camp trailer. We slept in the trailer on Wednesday night for the first time. It was fun. There were 16 of us for dinner on Thursday. Preston and Kinley had fun playing with Gus and Gunner. They went fishing and caught quite a few fish. Kinley reeled one in with Jakes help but didn't want anything to do with it...I can't say I blame the girl!

I know the kids are only 3 but they know not to play with Guns, Jake was helping them. It is better they know how to use a gun correctly so they aren't curious. So, here are pictures of Gus and Kinley practicing with Jakes .22!

Kinley celebrated her 3rd birthday last Friday. All she wanted was a Princess Scooter. She did get that...along with a few other gifts! She got a Hannah Montana barbie, Ricos Surf Shop, My Little Pony, game, puppet show, books, clothes, and a bike game. She had a fun birthday. Grandpa, Grandma, Amy, Gus, and Gunner came down in the morning. She played with her scooter, went to the library, ate pizza, and had a party.

Halloween

So, I don't have pictures from Halloween of Kinley because my precious angel was not so precious getting ready to go to the ward Halloween party. If Jake wasn't helping we wouldn't have went. Ever since we started talking about Halloween she wanted to be Hannah Montana. I found this Barbie dress up dress and a wig. Then she decided to be a barbie. She wore the dress playing up for weeks but when she was supposed to wear it, she wouldn't do it. We "fought" with her for 45 minutes. Mostly she screamed and bawled while we counted to 10 numerous times and had to shut her door to try to get her to stop screaming. Finally we go the dress on but that was all we got. We got the party and she had a blast. Silly girl. Preston was a pony and didn't mind at all. He fell asleep on the way out to great grandma and grandpas. But woke up after we got home so he didn't go to sleep until after 10pm. What an eventful Halloween!

Pumpkin Walk

We went to eat at Wingers and the waitress brought him a treat and we sang to him. I made him his favorite chocolate sheet cake and he has eaten over half by himself! Happy 28th Birthday Jake!

We were out in the warm weather today and I put Preston on the front stair and he looked so darn cute by the pumpkins I had to go get the camera. Kinley loves getting her picture taken too so I snapped away...I sure love my new camera! So, here are some cute one I got!

Camp Trailer Upgrade

Well, we talked about upgrading our camptrailer this summer. Nothing really wrong with our old 1982 Terry Taurus camp trailer but we wanted an awning and just to upgrade. Last Saturday we found an awesome camp trailer. It was a 2006 and $14,500 and we were minutes away from signing the paper and we really thought about it and we really wanted it but not the payment so after 4 hours at the RV lot, we decided to wait and keep looking. Well, Jake called on a trailer on Monday and Monday after I got off work, we went up to Idaho Falls and we bought us a new/used trailer. We got this 1996 Terry trailer. It is pretty nice and has lots of storage. So all day today, Jake has been fixing things up on the old trailer so we can sell it. He sure has worked hard on it. The only thing we had to fix on the new trailer is the latch that the people we bought it from had already bought. Jake of course had it fixed by Tuesday night!

Early Birthday

This is Kinley/Jakes early birthday present. Jake has been looking at this Browning .22 for quite a while. In the last couple months he decided that is what Kinley is getting for her birthday...but he might use it a little bit! We have been looking all over and finally yesterday at Sportsmans he found it. He was so excited. Jake a has gun like it he got when he turned 12. His is on the left and Kinleys is on the right. I like Kinleys better...if you ask me! Yes, Kinley can't shoot it yet, it is just a keepsake for now.

We got a call on Friday from the fairground. Kinley won this car. Out by the rides they had some cars the kids could ride for free and at the end of the fair they would give them away. We went right over and picked it up. Now Kinley and Preston will both have a car to ride.

This is one of the pumpkins we grew this year. It weighs like 22lbs and it isn't even the biggest one. We had fun growing the pumpkins, even though they took over the back yard! I took these pictures of the kids this morning. Their shirts say I love my mummy! Aren't they cute! Kinley even let me kinda do her hair. She hates to have her hair done!

We went to Jakes cousin Tom's wedding in Soda Springs. It rained before and after the wedding so the lighting for pictures was perfect. The setting was really pretty. The lake and mountains in the background was beautiful.

Fun in the Fall Sun

Kenadee didn't have school last Thursday and Friday so she spent the night on Wednesday night. The girls didn't want to go to sleep but alas, the eyelids became to heavy and they fell asleep. Thursday they went with Jake to Jensens Grove to play on the toys. Thursday afternoon it was pretty warm and they decided they wanted to play in the water. The swimming pool was already put away so they had to settle with a sprinkler. After running through twice, they said it was too cold. I talked them into running through one more time for a picture! They had lots of fun together!

Elk Camp

We went hunting this week and had so much fun. We came back empty handed, though. Last night I finally heard the elk bugle. It is so awesome to hear that under the sky full of stars. Kinley and Preston had so much fun. Kinley played with Maddie for the first few days until she had to leave. They were best friends.

Preston played peek-a-boo in the camp trailer window. Then he loved to eat dirt and ride the wheeler.

Hogal Zoo

Last weekend we went to the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. The Kids loved it. Kinley loved the baby giraffe. Preston wasn't sure about sitting on the tiger!

Kinleys favorite was the Elephants. On of the Elephants put a hat on his head with his trunk. She thought that was so funny.

Well, my birthday has come and gone already this year, countdown for next year! All I wanted was money for a new SLR digital camera. The one I wanted was kind of pricey so I was going to save money and get it for Christmas. Well, Jake, his parents, and my parents surprised me and that is what I got for my birthday. I got a Nikon D80. I L-O-V-E it! I can snap away and not waste any film. This weekend I took about 100 pictures, so much fun!! When I get to a computer I will put some of them up. There are a couple cute ones of Kinley bug!

Anniversary

Well, we've been married 5 years now. Our anniversary was on the 26th. We went to Yellowstone Park on Friday, the 25th. We left Kinley with my parents but took Preston. I wanted my parents to be able to sleep through the night. Preston was great...while he was sleeping! He didn't want to be in his car seat, he wanted to be held. I wanted to take pictures and watch for animals so that made it a challenge. We saw 2 grizzly bears on Friday night. It was the first time I have seen a bear in the wild. It was too dark for a picture and we left the video camera in the room. We saw quite a few cow elk and some cute little calfs that still had spots. We saw a 2-point buck and a couple does, one had a little fawn that looked just like bambi. We only saw 3 bull elk and quite a few buffalo. We had a lot of fun. We got up and was in the Park at 5:30 on Saturday morning and saw a lot of animals. We came home through Jackson. We had over 630 miles on the car from our trip.

We went out to the backyard last night so we could pick pea pods (that is what Kinley says, pea pods:)) and she was playing on her slide. Earlier we went to Nonpariels company picnic and Kinley rode some horses and got her face painted. Anyways, she played on her toy and Preston played in the dirt. He had so much fun and got so dirty. I didn't care, he was just too cute!

Jakes Alaska Adventure

Jake made it to Doc Warners safely. He rode in a bush plane to get there. He said it was fun but a little scary. They went over a few mountain ranges and were only a long bow shot away from the top of the mountain. The runway was hidden in the trees and was just a gravel airstrip.

The job he went up to do took about 3 hours but he did some other odd and end jobs around the place and helped Brett so they could go fishing. He could a bunch of Halibut and a yellow-eye.

They fished with some crazy Texans as Jake calls them. Jake says they know how to fish. They spend 2 months up there fishing in a boat they leave up there. Jake caught a scape (sting-ray looking thing) and a salmon along with some "trash" fish.

He brought 2 boxes of fish home for Curtis and Curtis is sharing with everyone and they say it is delicous. I haven't tried any yet, I think I might just try some! Jake saw a bunch of whale and a humpback even jumped clear out of the water in front of him. He tried to get a picture but I think he was a little excited! He got home safe on Saturday night.

Mackey

On July 5th, we went to Mackey to go for a 4-wheeler ride. Dad, Heather, Derek, Carlos, Melissa, Matt, Kinley, Preston and I went for a ride with Uncle Bill, and Grandpa and Grandma Pratt. We went up to a lake I had never been to before. There was still snow drifts up there, snow in July! Preston took some good naps on the way and so did Kinley on the way down the mountain.

Jakes in Alaska

Jake is in Alasaka right now, until the 12th. The mechanic at a fishing place outside of Juno didn't know how to fix one of their generators and knew Jake used to work on them. He called last Friday and asked Jake about it. On Friday Jake left for Alaska. He finished fixing the generator yesterday and got to go out in the boat and fish. He didn't catch any fish. He did see a whale when he was flying over in the bush plane. He has been looking for bears but no luck yet. I hope he doesn't see on too up close! Today he went to church and to the salmon cannery where they trap the salmon and then count them and then I think they let them go. I am not sure on the details but he was trying to catch them with his hands. He is at Doc Warners. The website is www.docwarners.com if you want to see where he is at!

Camping at Pebble

Last weekend we went camping at Pebble Creek. Amy, Rowdy, Gus, Gunner, Tim, Dusty, Kaybree, and Kenadi went camping with us. Britany,Tayler, dad, Curt, and Donna came up to visit.

Jake mad a dam in the creek so the kids could float the blow-up boat better. We went on some 4-wheeler rides. We hooked up the trailer and rode behing the trailer, it was actually pretty fun. Preston loved the dirt and Kinley played hard with her cousins.

Preston loved the dirt. This was the first time he really got his fingers in the dirt. He is used to the grass!

We went camping last weekend and decided to go swimming in Lava on Friday. We got to see Grandma Donna and Aunt Jeanie. Preston fell asleep in the pool and had a good nap. We didn't even get sunburned!

Caribou Mountain

We finally went for a ride in the mountains. We went to Caribou Mountain and the went through Alpine and back. It was fun and very beautiful. There were lots of moskitos and poor Kinley got bit all over her face.

Relay for Life

Friday we participated in the Relay for Life at the High School. Our team name was The Incredible Preventables (after the movie The Incredibles!). We made capes and eye masks. We stayed until the kids fell asleep, around 10:30 and had a fun time. We walked, ate, and mingled! Kinley and Kenadee hung out and had fun, like usual! Here are some photos!

Kinley's 1st Fish

Kinley asked Grandpa Curt to take her fishing when we were in Lava Sunday. Kinley and Jake had a daddy/daughter date a while back and Kinley picked out a Barbie fishing pole. We have been playing with the fishing pole in the house so she was practiced up and ready to catch a fish. So, Kinley asked grandpa if he would take her fishing. Gus was also there and he wanted to come too, so grandpa took Kinley and Gus down to the river to fish. About 5-10minutes later they were back and they had both caught a fish! I guess Kinley was really excited about fishing and casted the worm. Curt went to move Kinleys pole and she had a fish on the line. He tried reeling it and and Kinley tried reeling it in but the Barbie pole just couldn't pull the fish in. So grandpa pulled pulled the line in by hand and Kinley had a brown trout caught. When Kinley saw the fish, she turned around and ran. She didn't like seeing the fish jumping around. At the same time, Gus had a fish on his line. Well, his little pole couldn't pull his fish in either. Gus caught a 8lb carp.

Memorial Weekend

Hope everyone had a good, wet Memorial weekend. We did. We ruffed it in Island Park. Yeah, we stayed at a cabin on Bills Island, in a small 5,000square feet (give or take a little) cabin. We went with Brandon and his family. Brandon works with Jake. We have a lot of fun. It did rain most of the weekend but we still ventured out on the 4-wheelers. We have to go through a few drifts to get through the trails. We went until we got stuck or it started to rain too much. Preston loves to fall asleep on the 4-wheeler and Kinley loves to drive. Jake got us a new seat so we had a comfortable ride. Jake and I learned how to play pinnacle and we taught them how to play the Farming Game. We relaxed and ate most of the time. We even had so Atari, pool, and ping pong tournaments. Here are some more pictures.

Well, since I have mutal on Tuesdays, Jake usually keeps Kinley and I take Preston (he is a mamas boy!) Kinley usually crys when mom leaves so I had a plan for last night. Jake needed a couple things from the store because he was leaving this morning to go help on the farm. I decided that Jake and Kinley could go on a date. So all day, I got her excited to go on a date with dad. She helped clean her room even! Jake and Kinley went to Wal-Mart and she picked out a new Barbie fishing pole and got a big boucey ball (I think Jake secretly got the ball for himself!). Anyways they had a fun time.

Kinley is a pro on her bike. She has figured out how to peddle her bike. She has only crashed a few times-no cries. She and the neighbor boy her age were racing yesterday. She hasn't quite figured out how to turn so she will go fast from one end of the sidewalk to the next but when she is ready to turn, she gets off her bike and turns it around. She also has us say "Ready, Set, Go!" before she will start riding.

Great Outdoor

If you know Kinley, you know my child loves to be outside. Since it has warmed up and no snow on the grass, Kinley is outside. Yesterday, I worked on pulling weeds in the garden. Kinley played outside with her baby and the craddle. She and Rosco played a little. We had to eat our lunch outside on the front step. Then we went to a swimming party at the swimming pool and had lots of fun. We came back home and what did we do? We went back outside. I pulled some more weeds and Kinley played with the garden hose. Finally at about 6pm we came inside so I could start dinner. Kinley had a fit because she was tired but didn't want to come in. At 6:30 she stopped crying and fell asleep for the night. Yes, I said 6:30 she fell asleep! She snuck into bed with me a few times but slept all night. Kids, gotta love em!
